CALL FOR
ABSTRACTS, ARTEFACTS, PAPERS

The event invites researchers at any stage of their research. In research sessions, participants will have 60 minutes to present their project and discuss their work with an international panel. Participants are selected through a double-blind peer-review process of the submissions. Papers and artefacts of selected participants will be published in the conference proceedings through the University of Ljubljana online repository (with ISBN). Selected participants will also contribute to the CA²RE+ database of evaluated materials (delivering digital files of the presentation and any other document presented at the event, licensed under [(CC) BY-NC-SA]). Feel free to browse the database of CA2RE+ EXPERIENCES (https://ca2re.eu/results/) and identify the driving forces of design attitude and methods as well as ANY other art practices as drivers of your research!

For the first stage submission, the applicants are asked to provide

  • an extended, illustrated abstract (from 800 to 1200 words; max 2 pages including images);
  • a short reflection on the importance and role of DDr approach, methods and techniques employed in the research project (max 250 words);

If you are a PhD candidate at the CA²RE+ Consortium institutions (LJUBLJANA, AARHUS, GHENT, BERLIN, MILANO, PORTO, HAMBURG, TRONDHEIM, DELFT), special conditions apply. Selected participants need to:

  • attend the 5 full days of the conference;
  • present their doctoral work-in-progress;
  • participate actively in the discussions and summary sessions;
  • give written feedback about the impact of the Intensive Study Programme activity;
  • submit the presentation/publication/exhibition materials following the instructions of the CA²RE+ contact at your institution.

With their application, the CA²RE+ candidates accept the conditions described.

If conditions allow a face2face meeting in Ljubljana, the accepted CA²RE+ applicants travelling to Ljubljana get free access to the CA²RE+ event and, the best ones, financial travel support, based on Erasmus+ rules. The general acceptance borderline is the same for all the candidates: CA2RE and CA2RE+. For the travel support, the CA²RE+ Consortium will select the best eligible accepted candidates from each CA²RE+ Consortium institution, mentioned above. In the initial Erasmus+ plan there are 3 places for each institution available at each event.
