Design Driven Research is bound to the creative use of new design modes, tools and media, encouraging new ways of thinking, researching and doing. As I understand it, it looks at new forms of expression, offering multiple perspectives and greater diversity in the designed solutions, which are crucial for the scientific and technical progress of the profession Design Driven Research has to be seen in the development of the design methods movement of the 1960s, but going a step further than creating a systematic design methodology and way of doing research through design, towards a multidisciplinary approach, creating relations inbetween practical projects, social questions and a creative design. It is more than design in with or on research and opens the discussion towards a cultural agency for the designer-researcher, who switches inbetween roles and brings together various tools as a bricoleur.
