Abstract

In the context of a changing world and the advent of the Anthropocene, the research tries to reflect and use the dichotomy technology and nature thought the lens of a specific context, the Smart City. In this frame is possible to conceive a living architecture and environment, able to perceive and respond, an animated interface in between humans and their habitat. This can be done using the agency of nature and a system of sensor and actuators, that reads and forecast the needs of a wider territorial network. The ideal set for this to happen are railway yards, as symbolic and factual possibility for the paradigm nature-technology to be implemented through the design of a hub, interface between the human, the city, and the territorial scale.
